About Eli

Eli has been working in higher education for 12+ years as an instructional developer. Her focus has been on web-based, blended and online education but over the years has branched into the improvement of teaching and learning environments and faculty development. She is a talented professional and organizational developer, instructional designer, team leader, instructor, and mentor. Her work has always centered on creating effective and meaningful learning environments, with or without technology.

Eli's love of technology began in 1988 while she was pursuing an associates degree in Accounting. She worked on the first version of Lotus 123 on one of the school's personal computers and it was love at first touch! Ever since then she has always used technology in her career, seeking ways to use it to improve processes and practices.

In 1996, Eli made her first foray onto the World Wide Web. Her fascination with technology took another huge jump as she envisioned the incredible potential the Internet could have on education. Eli was always a working student with family and work responsibilities. Online education held great promise for increased access for non-traditional students. Shortly after becoming one of the web masters for the company intranet, she decided to pursue a career in web-based and online education.

Through her research and practice, Eli has found that technology-supported instruction can create significant learning experiences that enhance classroom instruction in terms of discussion, access to content and connectedness to students.
